Hi, I'm Phillip but some people call me Phil. I'm a software engineer based in Salt Lake City, UT. I specialize in full-stack applications. Many of my professional project experiences have been in the form of a MERN stack or some variation of it. My goal is to build applications that improve the quality of life of users who use them.
I care about providing a streamlined experience for all of my users. I'm a lifelong learner that strives to keep up-to-date with new technologies and am capable of picking up new concepts quickly. Here are some of the technologies I've recently worked with:
Here are some of the recent things I've made. Check them out!
A lot of my personal hobbies and interest are adjacent to computer programming. I tend to daydream a lot where some of those dreams manifest into ideas. Computer programming has been my gateway and tool for making some of those ideas a reality. I've still got a lot to learn but that's been a part of the fun. Some of my more practical applications are aimed at automating menial tasks to give back to my users additional free time that they can put elsewhere. Some of my more passionate projects fall in the realm of computer graphics and audio production.
After taking a few computer graphics classes at the University of Utah, I quickly found a special interest in this particular sub-field of computer science. Some of my personal projects for fun in this field include mapping of audio signals to visual spaces, global illumination and live shading of 3D models in augmented reality, and responsive shading of rigged 2D and 3D models.
I like making music! Most of the stuff I produce are musical covers that involve guitar and singing. Aside from the performance, I enjoy fiddling around inside of production software to mix and master what I record. I also enjoy sound design, althought I spend less time with this than recording covers.
